Join Gaslamp Media‘s Thai Yin for an introduction to using UC Node Checkout and Ubercart to sell customizable products from your Drupal site. We’ll combine these modules with Views and CCK to give you flexible control over what products can use UC Node Checkout and what additional information is collected. In this example, we’ll be demonstrating with a simple custom printed t-shirt business.

We’ll focus on the Drupal 6 versions of each module. Attendees should have a basic understanding of Ubercart, as the majority of the session will be focused on the setup and configuration of UC Node Checkout. At the end of the discussion, there will be a question and answer session, time permitting.

A demo site has been setup. You can check this out before the session to give you an idea of how it works.

Possible Issues

  • Not compatible with Product Kits
  • When a site uses non-nodecheckout products and you get the error message "Unable to determine the product class associated with item so the shipping pane is included on this Ubercart display" in the checkout page. Patch is available to fix. http://drupal.org/node/1181578
  • Potential Issue with Views3. Might have a patch available by now.
  • Users who has permission to delete a nodecheckout content type (aka admin) who successfully complete their checkout will have their nodecheckout node get deleted. Proposed solutions on this thread http://drupal.org/node/1131406

Node checkout with quantities

Submitted by gaslamp_thai on Sun, 2011-11-06 13:06.

A common problem many people have with this module is changing the quantity of a product. I wrote up a short guide on how to address it:
