DrupalCamp LA 2010 Schedule Announced!
This weekend the stars align for you and hundreds of other fans of Drupal, the fastest growing Web CMS around! Get ready for the fourth annual DrupalCamp LA all this weekend. Saturday and Sunday, August 7-8, doors open at 8:00AM sharp.
With more than 60 high quality sessions, a thriving community and a world-class venue, DrupalCamp LA is the most anticipated independent Drupal event on the West Coast. With so much taking place in the Drupal-sphere, it can be difficult keeping up with the latest and greatest around you and that is why this camp exists: To share, learn, and network about Drupal.
Each morning of the camp starts with a Drupal Install Fest where volunteers help you get Drupal installed and can answer configuration questions for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. There are tons of sessions that are perfect for beginners and just as many sessions for intermediate and advanced levels. Topics include making Theme design easier, insights on the upcoming Drupal 7, how to use powerful tools like Drush & Aegir, plus dedicated sessions on popular add-ons like Panels, Views, Fusion, Skinr, and so much more.
Join us in person or online as we set the stage bringing together talented professionals, newbies, Drupal Doctors & Ninjas — all at DrupalCamp LA 2010:
Camp Schedule V1.0 Now Posted
The official DrupalCamp LA 2010 Schedule in now online. You can now log in to view and edit your own custom schedule.
Any sessions you have chosen will be indicated in the schedule with a check mark which is only visible when you’re logged in. Please resolve any conflicts and make sure you have only chosen one session per time slot, and post your suggestions in the forums. Remember, this is a camp and that means the schedule may have some small changes throughout the duration of the camp.
Are you presenting?
Presenters, please note the schedule times for your session(s). Let us know of any time restrictions esp if you can only attend one day (update your profile). Contact us with any concerns.
Presenters should have already received an e-mail from us with special instructions on how to prepare your laptop. If not, please read the details that we have provided for you.
* We record each session and presenters are required to install a simple plug-in to connect to our Camtasia video recording server, so we need all presenters to be ready before their session. By doing so you help us release high-quality camp videos and they’re even published automatically. In fact, there’s no need to worry about missing a session during the camp since each will be available for download just hours after our presenters stops recording.
Doors open at 8AM
DrupalCamp LA starts each morning at 8AM with registration and breakfast. Registration check-in is required and takes place in the sponsor room. Don’t forget, parking costs $8/day and please be sure to check-in and get your map & badge. Meet some sponsors, buy a DrupalCamp shirt (half-off during the camp!), and please offer to help at the camp, then head to your first scheduled session. We are making it easy for you and it’s going to be a lot of fun.
NOTE: If you are a morning volunteer we ask that you arrive by 7:30AM, to help setup before 8AM.
DrupalCamp Keynote, Saturday 11AM
Our annual DrupalCamp keynote will take place in the mid-morning, before lunch. We ask that all DrupalCampers attend the keynote. There is only a keynote on Saturday and it may or may not be recorded. Lots to talk about!
Lunch 12PM
We announce that lunch starts at 12PM, but you can go eat as early as 11:30AM when the cafeteria opens. There were long lunch lines last year but the cafeteria promised to have two lines for lunch sales this year to help reduce the food lines.
Lunch menu and details are also posted to the website (the menu is the same for both days).
Saturday Night Social Gatherings
The last sessions on Saturday are letting out by 6PM. Right after the camp is the DrupalChix Social (for all DrupalChix supporters), and starting at 7PM is our DrupalCamp Pub Party sponsored by MediaTemple. All camp attendees are invited and there is no charge to enter the Pub. You will be able to buy food and drinks at the Pub, but if you’d like another suggestion of where to eat dinner, there is a long list of options near the camp that we provide.
DrupalCamp Shirts – ON SALE $10 – While Supplies last
We will be offering shirts for sale this year at the camp for only $10. We can only take cash, but there are ATM machines on campus. This is a first for our camp to have shirts available during the camp and a big thanks go out to Monstrositee and This by Them who worked together to produce the shirts.
Jobs & Prizes Available All Weekend In The Sponsor Room
At DrupalCamp LA, we use the sponsor room for the jobs board, check-in, and raffle prize pickups. Our sponsors know the deal: you probably don’t want not miss any sessions, so we ask that you introduce yourselves to our sponsors when you get a chance. Come by the sponsor room to decompress and charge your laptop/phone. This by Them is also sponsoring free massages in the sponsors room again this year. A map is available.
Camp Sponsors
Our PLATINUM Sponsor is Warner Music Group and this is the second time they have sponsored DrupalCamp LA. We’re happy to have them again and we encourage camp attendees to read about their session scheduled for Saturday on The Musician Stack: Using Features and Exportables to Make Your Own Flavor of Drupal.
All our camp sponsors are listed at our website and again we thank Warner Music Group and all of our camp sponsors and supporters, including Media Temple, Achieve Internet, Monstrositee, Vollaci, Tropo, Metal Toad Media, Stauffer New Media Development and many more.
